Mother's Day Ideas...

A Hug you can mail

What You Need:

Construction Paper
Yarn
Glue

Trace and cut out, from construction paper, the hands of the child. Measue the distance from finger tip to finger tip of outstretched arms with yarn, cut. Attach a handprint to each end of the yarn. Place inside a card with the following poem: A Mother's Day Hug to You [Grandma] Wrap these hands around you whenever I'm away so you can have a hug from me anytime of day!

Some other ideas that would work better NOT mailed.
A handprint flower...complete with clothes pin and magnet making it a great accessory for any fridge to hold the child's artwork!

I've done various co-op preschools for my oldest daughter "Curly" for about 2 years. I decided to organize some of my many files on a blog. Each group I've worked with has always wanted to use an alphabet curriculum (even though I think some other options may be better). So I have created various lesson plans/activities for about half the letters of the alphabet. Also, as I try to develop and search for ideas I get frustrated by having to sort through so much junk to find the diamonds in the rough...so hopefully the blog may be useful to others. Oftentimes my best ideas come from trips to the library. Other ideas or games that work I just adapt to fit the theme/letter of the day. I try to keep a balance of large and small motor skills, sedentary and moving times, math and literacy activities, structure and fun!
